What are Air Handlers?
An air handler is a crucial component of central heating and cooling systems in Cincinnati. The air handler is housed indoors, typically next to your furnace. The fan components housed inside the air handler are responsible for circulating conditioned air throughout your home or building. The air handler also houses the evaporator coil which works with your central air conditioner or heat pump system. Your furnace filter is usually housed within a compartment in the air handler.
The air handler also affects the efficiency of your heating and cooling systems. If the air handler’s efficiency is sub-par, your heating and cooling systems will consume more energy to condition your home or business, increasing your utility costs.
