Pets are just as part of the family as any human would be. They need to be loved, fed, and cared for just like anyone else. The air ducts in your home are there for one reason, and that’s to transport the air into your home. A very common thing we see is those ducts getting covered and filled with pet hair from dogs and cats. As this air pushes through the air ducts it is getting caught up in the particles. This leads to the rest of the home and makes it more difficult to breathe. To limit the build up you want to make sure your air ducts are sealed properly. You want to take a closer look at your ducts and make sure these little crevasses are sealed because it can make a huge difference in your ability to breathe.

You should already be changing your air filters regularly in order to keep your HVAC system running properly but if you are a pet owner you might want to consider changing them move often. A pet’s fur can not only get in air ducts but also your air filters. In air filters the dirt and hair are trapped. As the buildup continues this provides a blockage. The HVAC unit doesn’t know there is a blockage so will continue to work even harder to provide you with the AC you want and deserve. This then skyrockets the energy bills with now increase in air quality. The more pets you have the more often you should change your filter.
